DEATH NOTICE: Graydon Destromp, 1935-2008

I got to know Mr. and Mrs. Destromp working Bingo at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. They were always very nice.

GRANBY - Graydon A. Destromp, 72, of Pine Brook Cir., died Friday, June 27, 2008 at his home in Granby.

He was born in North Hatley Quebec, Canada. He was the son of the late Frederick and Violet (Baron) Destromp. Graydon worked as the Transportation Director for the Chicopee Council on Aging and also worked at Rexam Graphics. He graduated from Holyoke High School and Holyoke Community College.

He was a member of the Chicopee Moose and was a former Selectman for the Town of Granby.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine (Kiernan) Destromp, his sons, Lyndon Destromp of Pennsylvania, Sheldon Destromp and his wife Sue of Shutesbury, and Graydon L. Destromp of Granby, also his brother, John Destromp and his wife Anne of Holyoke, his sisters Freda Burke of Canada and Virgina D'Ordine, of Belchertown and his two grandchildren, Lynden and Haley Destromp and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral mass held for Graydon on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 10 am in St. Patricks Church in South Hadley. There are no calling hours. Ryder Funeral Home of South Hadley is handling arrangements.
